Measuring for your custom boxes is a simple "Subtract and Divide" process. Follow these 4 quick steps:
1. Measure Your Total Length
Measure the full diagonal length of your staircase (along the side board) from the bottom step to the top landing. Example: Let’s say your total length is 400 cm.
2. Choose Your Number of Boxes
Decide how many boxes you want running up the stairs.
The Rule: You will always have one less gap than the number of boxes.
Example: If you want 4 boxes, you will have 3 gaps .
3. Subtract Your Gaps
Decide how wide you want the spaces between your boxes to be (e.g., 5 cm or 10 cm). Multiply that by your number of gaps and subtract it from your total length.
Example: 3 gaps that are 10cm each = 30 cm total gaps.
400cm (Total) - 30cm (Total Gaps) = 370cm left for boxes.
4. Get Your Box Length
Divide that remaining number by the number of boxes you want. That is the length of each box!
Example: 370cm divided by = 4 boxes = 92.5cm per box - Please note this is an example your Staircase measurements could be different.
Then round to the nearest whole number, in this case it is 93cm!
5. Pick Your Height
Simply measure straight up from the stairs to however high you want the boxes to sit. This is completely up to you!
